survival of the unfit
death of the dumb
the ignorance disease
it’s a choice to catch it
so many decide to take it on
and run
easier to live with the intelligent
no suits, wealth or use of smart words
people with open hearts
closer with their ears to the dirt
unselfish and caring
follow the blue bird,
the sheep of gold
the sin of the sloth
devolve back to hunched men
staring blankly at a tv
or mobile screen
take away the light
would cause flat lines and darkness
outsmarted all of the red necks
the black pests
we find rocks
not just at the bottom
through all layers
equalize the IQ of high and low
I’m with stupid
survival of the dim-witted
make it stop

This left me speechless…🤐 If I may ask, what do you mean by ‘the black pests’?

Speechless in a good way 😊

Thank you! Just a play on words, referring to the Black Death (Pest) that spread just like ignorance spreads. And how I wish it would be dead, as the title suggests 🙂

Even worse than ignorance, in my opinion, is enlightenment with subsequent silence when we should be speaking out. In the words of Paul Simon, ‘silence like a cancer grows.’

Point taken. However, ignorance is literally like a virus that kills any positivity, progress and tolerance. At least people who are enlightened won’t spread negativity and reinforce lies and untruth.
