Harmony in Disunion

in times of care and need
a priority in place
a distinction is made
ownership of a marked territory
under a flag
united by the stars
slowly fading, no longer there
symbolising boats sinking
lives lost in the blue
built a wall at the borders
of our hearts and minds
in a time of easy connection to all
we disconnect from ourselves
embodiment of the human condition
when one suffers,
supposed to provide relief
embarrassed to be part of a community
in disharmony
political games in plain view
honest, blunt, rude
people have become pawns
dealing with dictators
intensions of ill-will
so I walk in shame
still sending out a positive light
in isolation, still get involved
until this situation, gets resolved
