An Inconvenient Truth of Inhumanity

the suffering will continue, the sun will set
shadows of a dark era
wind traveling through flimsy tents
the shameful acts
product of a white privilege system
intends to keep black and brown out
preservation of a separate identity
at the cost of our own humanity
a crisis created with intent
so the standards of what a human being is
are allowed to be diminished
decisions made over the backs of broken mothers
men are overlooked, a blind spot
children deemed spawn of a lesser species
how else do you turn that eye
to thousands sleeping on top of animal feces
we are nowhere near the finish
commissioners and politicians playing their role
throwing people a bone with their mouths
making deals as pale devils
dancing in broad day light, the audacity
make no mistake and have no doubt
this will spiral but they are still in control
any shred of compassion
is like a throw-away piece of clothing
dress for the occasion we should be cynical and see the truth
the inconvenience of intruders
dealt with an inhumanity that only serves the irony
of the European identity
