A World, bleak and Beautiful

a bleak world
or so it seems in our perception
what transpires is out of reach
in the tiniest act we affect,
the outcome
a reflection of our hearts and minds
the paradigm overarching
systems overseeing
games played by pawns
can only serve a function
cross diagonally move up 3 spots
by nightfall
ask for the check
signifies the end, before it starts
again
several different plays
running at the same time
take part in monopoly, chest or checkers
more across the board
beyond sitting, crunching numbers
hide and go seek, tag or jump rope
use of the mind and focus fully
distractions that are relaxing
not that serious
once away from the playground
hard to jump back in
ironically it’s only then,
when you see
the silliness of it all
play around
at your leisure
commit fully and find joy
a beautiful world, you’ll see
